Collection of research material on South Asia, ca. 1885-1990.

Collection consists of research material collected by Richard Sisson concerning the politics and society of South Asia in the twentieth century, gathered during research trips, ca. 1960-1990. Included are in-depth interviews with principal government, military and political leaders in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the United States prior to the Bangladesh War. Also included is data from research collected from public and private sources, and conducted jointly with Leo E. Rose and Lawrence L. Shrader.

Richard Sisson received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Ohio State University and his Ph. D. in political science from UC Berkeley. He taught political science at UCLA for 25 years at UCLA and served as Department Chair and as Senior Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs. He returned to Ohio State University in 1993 as Provost and Interim President.
